Introduction

Cats, also known as “The
Reds 2” is a new Korean girls group that
had debuted in early 2007 with their
song “Baby Cat”. |

History
]
A public audition took place in January 2007 where
over 3000 girls had to show their
singing acting and dancing skills. Four girls
had been chosen: Park Sujeong (22),
Han Suyo (20), Ayaka aka
Sun Shim (23) and Kim Jihye
(20). Being the oldest, Soon Shim is the leader
figure of the group as well as the best singer.
She is actually japanese, but got interested in Korean
stars had a young age, one of them being Bae Yong
Jun, who is actually the most famous actor in Japan,
thanks to the TV show he was featured in: “'Winter
Sonata”. She decided to start a singer career in hope
to meet her idol, and succeed in doing so.
Cats
performed “Baby Cat” during winter, which is a cover
of A.sia's song, then “Handsome Boy” during this
spring, these two songs being from their first album
which had been released in February 2007.
This second song performed by the group got the
8th place in the M Countdown top 10.
This
band is actually the second generation of the first
group previously known as “The Reds”,
whose one of the original member was the rising
star Bae
Seulgi.
Logically
this group should help skyrocket the career of one
or two of the girls. In my opinion, Han Suyo and
Kim Jihye should be concerned by solo activities,
seeing that they get a lot of lines to sing and
a lot of spotlight.
